Growbox

A packed GrowBox.

The box contains a range of material to get local children engaged with the outdoors.

An easy guide to getting started.

‘Vouchers’ for professional advice would offer community groups a day of pro-bono time from their local Landscape Institute member.

www.growbox.com would contain further resources and guidance, and a forum to allow groups to engage with each other.

Growbox

A practical kit to enable communities to improve green infrastructure one small space at a time

Shortlisted

GrowBox is a box of resources and practical guidance to empower local community groups to create their little landmarks on their own doorsteps, whether it’s improving the quality of playgrounds, parks, allotments or leftover spaces.

By educating community groups on the potential of their local spaces for growing food, wildlife habitat, recreation and education, the aim is to improve green infrastructure across London, one small space at a time.

The kit contains product vouchers – provided through private retail sponsorship – to give the community group real purchasing power and enable groups who would otherwise not have the means to make a difference. ‘Vouchers’ for professional advice would offer community groups a day of pro-bono time from their local Landscape Institute member and local borough officers, who will help facilitate the project. There is also potential for local colleges to contribute an evening class to allow people to develop a practical skill.
