Lambeth GI Beacons

Different green activities would take place in different residential streets on a rotating basis throughout the year. This would be overseen by a Lambeth GI Group, with support from Lambeth Council and the Greater London Authority.

Lambeth GI Beacons

Delivering green activities to deprived areas

Lambeth Green Infrastructure (GI) Beacons aim to provide local people in areas of high deprivation and green space deficiency with a range of 'green' experiences on their doorstep.

The Beacons are adaptable structures that can be transported and installed within a residential street. Thirty one Beacons would extend across Lambeth and would contribute to the delivery of the Lambeth Link within the All London Green Grid proposals for Central London.

Resident groups would be able to choose from a selection of green activities, such as food growing, gardening skills, wildlife awareness, play, bike skills and repairs, water recycling and renewable energy.
